We are on the search for an experienced Line Producer to join our team of talented craftspeople in Ottawa! This position is an excellent opportunity to work on an exciting project with one of the most respected animation studios in the industry.

The Line Producer (LP) is a highly visible role both internally and externally. The LP oversees all operations and logistics for a program/ show, from pre-production through the delivery of the completed work.  


Role and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the VP of Production to forward plan a production in a way that is deliberate and achievable for the production team while ensuring a successful creative outcome.
  • Manage the execution of the forward planning by bringing together the production management team with the studio’s key creative players (management level artists).
  • Balance the creative expectations of both internal and external creatives with the resources available.
  • Inspire and motivate a large creative team to produce world-class animated content.  
  • Support the creative vision of the key creative stakeholders with world class planning and execution practice.
  • Act as a representative and liaison to industry and key partners.
  • Build, sell (to stakeholders), and manage development and production budgets and schedules.
  • Organize and drive key people and groups to achieve their milestones.
  • Work closely with Production Management, Art Directors and Heads of Department to manage planned vs actual schedules, budgets & assumptions.
  • Promote and enforce best practices in respect of team leadership, project development, production planning, reporting, risk management, and resource allocation.
  • Work closely with the Director in guiding the team through all production phases.
  • Provide regular project cost and status reporting. Identify any potential risks, develop solutions, and communicate clearly and regularly with stakeholders and senior management.
  • Leverage experience when collaborating with senior management and other production management teams on studio-wide changes required to achieve success for all productions. Actively work to prevent silo’ing of productions. 

 

 Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years experience managing artistic teams in a studio environment
  • Exceptional creative and production management track record
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Great creative instincts.
  • Must be resilient and able to work in a people and team-relationship based environment.
  • Must have superb communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a driven, innovative, and dynamic problem solver with a focus on solutions
  • Must have exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Must be detail oriented, entirely sufficient and self-directed
  • Must be a superb forward planner with the ability to identify and mitigate risk in advance
  • Ability to motivate and inspire artists and other employees.
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Ability to pivot and make good decisions quickly and effectively
  • A willingness to mentor, lead, and teach by example.
  • Attention to detail in all matters. Creative. Financial. Business.
