Storyboard Revisionist


Mercury Filmworks is currently seeking Storyboard Revisionists to join our team in Ottawa. This is an excellent opportunity to work on memorable and creative shows with over 250 of Canada’s most passionate designers, animators and directors and at the same time take your career to the next level and advance in the industry. Help us bring to life shows like; the Emmy and Annie Award winning series Hilda, a new Netflix original series created and directed by Craig McCracken, plus other yet to be announced projects from both Netflix and Disney! This position reports directly to the Storyboard Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:


Revise storyboard panels based on notes from Director & Clients.


Working directly with the Storyboard Supervisor and Director to revise & clarify story, which may include:


  •  addressing acting, hookups and extra poses
  • fleshing out a scene or cleaning up rough panels
  • ensuring that characters and designs are on model and to proper proportions
  • re-boarding and re-staging from scratch (if necessary)
  • conforming board for animatic
  •  translate written notes into motion & acting within the panels
  • clean up rough panels, add details for clarity
  • work within the production pipeline’s deadlines, and
  • adhere to the quality and style of the show.


Requirements and Qualifications:


 


  • College degree from an accredited Animation Program or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience on an animated production
  • Portfolio shows aptitude for layout, character design, composition & strong drawing skills
  • Highly skilled using Storyboard Pro and Photoshop, with Harmony as an asset
  • Ability to work digitally, from a thumbnail to finished panel
  • Professional communication skills, able to take direction and work within a production schedule
  •  Applicant must be a Canadian citizen and a resident of Ontario
